Sister M. Desiree CSC, 82, died early today at Saint Mary’s Convent, following a long illness. She was born Mary Elizabeth Pierce on Aug. 5, 1880 in San Francisco. She entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1900, receiving the habit of the congregation the same year, and making her profession of final vows in 1906. During her community life she taught in Austin, Texas; San Francisco; and other schools in the western province.

The requiem high mass will be celebrated in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at 7 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor.
