MISHAWAKA - Glenn L. Pierce, 95, passed away during the
early morning hours of November 22 in the Holy Cross Care and
Rehabilitation Center. Glenn was born on September 2, 1912, in
Dowagiac, MI, to the late Martin F. and Mildred (Mendenhall)
Pierce. Glenn served in the US Army during World War II, and was
honorably discharged in 1945.
On March 29, 1947, he married Letitia Vaughn
in Muskegon, MI. She preceded him in death on January 3, 1974. On
October 5, 1974, in Mishawaka, Glenn married Ila M. Morris.
She preceded him in death on November 29, 2006. Glen retired as a
machinist from R & M. Manufacturing, Niles. He was a member
of the VFW and a member of the Albright United Methodist Church.
Glenn is survived by his son, Thomas G. (Diane M.) Pierce of
South Bend; a stepdaughter, Grace (Gene) Curtis of South
Bend; a step-grandson, Larry (Diana) Curtis of Plymouth; a
brother, Lyle (Joyce) Pierce of Niles; four nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Boughton.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 to
8 p.m. Monday, November 25, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N.
Main St., and one hour prior to the service. Funeral services
celebrating Glenn's life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 27,
in the funeral chapel, with Rev. Warren Kirkwood of Albright
United Methodist Church officiating the service. Burial will
follow at Sumnerville Cemetery, Sumnerville, MI Memorial
contributions may be made to the Albright United Methodist
Church.
