Feb. 27, 1928 - April 10, 2001

Clay E. Pierce, 73, of South Middleboro Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away of natural causes at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10th, in his home.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1928, in South Bend, Ind., to William and Myrtle (Keefer) Pierce, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tracie Lynn Evanoff; and by three brothers, Donald A. Pierce, William E. Pierce and Richard R. Pierce.

On Feb. 26, 1946, he married the former Geraldine Skodinski in South Bend. She survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Janet (Dennis) Wantuch and Sandra (John) Wantuch, both of South Bend; a grandson, Kelly Evanoff of South Bend; and by two sisters, Delta Havens of Escondido, Calif., and Jane Myers of Mishawaka.

Mr. Pierce was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was the owner/operator of Clay's Body Shop Supplies and also worked at Dodge Manufacturing.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Ervin Mize officiating, and where friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Burial will follow the services at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
