SOUTH BEND - Violet G. Phillips, 81, passed away at 4 p.m.
on Friday, March 14, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.
Violet was born on April 8, 1926, in Eureka, IL, to the late Carl
and Lucy (Taylor) Tevis.
On January 10, 1945, she married Charles C. Caylor,
who passed away on June 10, 1986. On May 30, 1987, she married
Melvin L. Phillips, who passed away on August 9, 1996. Surviving
Violet are her husband, Patrick Totleben; daughters,
Rebecca (John) Fastero of South Bend and Charlotte Caylor
of Grand Rapids, MI; granddaughters, Denise (John) Lovinger
of Hillsdale, MI, and Angela Phillips of Hobart, IN;
great-granddaughters, Kathryn and Sarah Lovinger; nine sisters
and a brother. Violet worked at Montgomery Ward for nine years
and J.C. Penny's for nine years.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon
Monday, March 17, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland
Road, South Bend. Funeral services will begin at noon on Monday,
March 17, in the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland
Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to
the American Heart Foundation or to Breast Cancer Awareness.
