Sister Mary Victorine CSC, died Saturday in
the Motherhouse of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy
Cross at St. Mary’s College after a long illness. She was
born Emma C. Phillips in East St. Louis, Ill. in 1874. She
entered the Congregation in 1901, making her final profession in
1907. She had been stationed in missions of the order in Fresno,
Calif.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Columbus, Ohio; and at St. Mary’s.
A requiem high mass was sung this morning in the convent chapel and burial was in the community cemetery.
