SOUTH BEND - Margaret Louise Philipson, 83, of Atlanta, formerly of Iroquis Street, died at 11:45 a.m. Sunday in Knollwood Terrace, Atlanta. Mrs. Philipson retired in 1975 from Brown Insurance Agency as office manager. She was born Oct. 6, 1911, in Dowagiac and lived in South Bend most of her life.

On Sept. 2, 1939, in Winamac, as Margaret L. Parent, she married Thomas M. Philipson. Mr. Philipson was editor of The Tribune's Michiana Magazine prior to his retirement. He died Jan. 3, 1990. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Margaret Clarendon of Alpharetta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Mark Clarendon and Greer Clarendon, both of Alpharetta; and a sister, Ruth Troy of Malibu, Calif. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Basilica. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
