J. J. PHILION
Former Resident
Victim of Heart
Ailment
J. J. (Babe) Philion, 66, of
2510 Hoke St., South Bend, a resident of Mishawaka most of his lifetime, died
at 11:45 a.m. Monday in his home. He suffered a heart attack shortly
before his death.
Mr. Philion was born in Ottawa,
Canada, and came to Mishawaka in 1900. He married Miss Blanche Ort in St.
Monica's Catholic Church, Nov. 15, 1916 and they lived here until 1950 when
they moved to South Bend.
The deceased had been employed
in the office of the Ball-Band plant for 42 years retiring in 1956. Surviving
are his widow; one son, Richard J. Philion, of Madison Heights, Mich.; two
grandchildren and one brother, Lucian J. Philion, of Mishawaka.
Friends may call at the Bent
and Sprague Chapel after 7 p.m. today and until the funeral services at 9 a.m.
Thursday in St. Matthew's Catholic Church, South Bend. Rev. Arnold
Wibbert, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Valley
Memorial Park. Mr. Philion was a member of St. Matthew's Church and the
Holy Name Society.

PHILION - Funeral rites for J.
J. Philion, 66, of 2510 Hoke St., who died Monday, will take place at 9 a.m.
Thursday in St. Matthew's Catholic Church, South Bend. Rev. Arnold
Wibber, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial
Park. Friends may call at the Bent & Sprague Chapel until the funeral
hour and the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today in the chapel.
Pallbearers will be J. M. Crain, J. D. Isenbarger, N. J. Skoner, P. N. Holland,
F. A. Taggert and R. W. Fox.
