SOUTH BEND - Kieth Petty, 61, of South Bend, IN, passed away at
4:21 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in
South Bend, IN. He was born on August 21, 1948, to Kenneth W. and
Jane (Fanning) Petty in Piqua, OH, and had lived in South Bend
since 1984, coming from Richmond, IN. Along with his father,
Kenneth W. Petty, one sister, Diane Petty, and one brother, Jeff
Petty, also preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving
wife, Cindi A. (Liberti) of South Bend, IN; his mother, Jane
(Jess) Hall of Donna, TX; one daughter, Sara J. Petty and her
husband, Matt Melville of South Bend, IN; two sons, Nick (wife
Nicole) Petty of South Bend, IN, and Jason (wife Karen) Petty of
Bradford, OH; three grandchildren, Mayah and Jaxon Petty, both of
South Bend, IN, Halley Petty of Bradford, OH; one sister, Michele
(Roger) Snodgrass of Kokomo, IN; one brother, Monty Young of
Curtisville, IN; many special uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces
and nephews, and beloved friends. Kieth was a U.S. Army veteran
of the Vietnam War. The family could list his credits,
affiliations, and accomplishments because there are many, but he
was most proud of his children and grandchildren, who were the
light of his life. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday, December 22, 2009, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545
N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. Private funeral services will
take place at a later date. A special thanks to Dr. Sarnat and
his staff for their care and compassion: we are forever grateful.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The
family of Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 1027 in South
Bend, IN. Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, IN, is handling
