MISHAWAKA - Jack Ross Peters, 79, Elizabethton, TN, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010, in Elizabethton, TN. He was born in Carter County, TN, to the late Mike and Texie Calhoun Peters, and had lived in Mishawka, IN, for a number of years. He retired from the Park and Recreation Dept. of Miramar, Florida. He was a Korean veteran. He was preceded in death by a sister, Delma Hazlewood. Survivors include a daughter, Michele Peters, Elizabethton, TN; a son, Robert Peters, Hollywood, Florida; three grandchildren; two sisters, Janet White, Hampton, TN, and Carolyn Magnuson, Mishawaka; three brothers, Bill Peters, Elizabethton, TN, George "Buster" Peters, Deer Park, NY, and Steve Peters, Lawrenceville, GA. Funeral services at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, in Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, Tenn. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2010, at National Cemetery, Johnson City, TN. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, TN.
