MISHAWAKA - Charles J. Persyn, 82, of West 11th Street, died at 2:58 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness. Mr. Persyn was the owner of Mishawaka Steel Fabricating Inc. since July 1956.

He was born Dec. 26, 1912, in Croswell, Mich. On May 2, 1936, in Mishawaka, he married Germaine B. Rothy. She survives with a daughter, Charlene M. Hyska of Mishawaka; a son, Dale T. of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; three sisters, Elsie DeCook and Margaret DeRaeve, both of Mishawaka, and Rose Wagner of South Bend; and a brother, Christopher of Mishawaka. A grandson preceded him in death. He was a member of Knights of Columbus 1878, Mishawaka Eagles, BK Club, St. Bavo's Catholic Church and the West End Sunday Golf group.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hahn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Hospital or St. Bavo's School.
