Dominic A. Perri, 77, of Lowell Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a lengthy illness at 12:25 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, in his residence.
Dominic was born on March 26, 1923, in Anderson, Ind., to the late Samuel and Elizabeth Perri.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank J. Perri on Nov. 14, 1981.
On June 29, 1946, in St. Monica Church, Mishawaka, Dominic married the former Josephine Kish, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Betty (Kendric) McCrory of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a son, Sam (Sue) Perri of Goshen, Ind.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; six sisters, Minnie Sencrie and Connie Bilancio of South Bend, Ind., Mary Marando and Ann Zirille of Mishawaka, Catherine Eslinger of Elkhart, Ind., and Grace Baldoni of Denver, Colo.; and by a brother, Pat Perri of Henderson, Nev.
Dominic retired in 1983 after 23 years with the CTS Corporation in Elkhart. He was a member of St. Monica Church, Mishawaka, where he was an usher and violin soloist at many of the services. He volunteered playing his violin at various senior centers and nursing homes. Over the years he played music with Bill Miller, Howard Ammerman, Chick Wilk, Joe Wilk and Andy Zeberel. He was a member of the DiLoreto Society in 0Mishawaka, and was active at the Battell Community Center.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 8, in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, in St. Monica Church, with Fr. Derrick Sneyd officiating.
Entombment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
