MISHAWAKA - The city mourns the loss of Charles R. Perri, a longtime leader and public figure. Mr. Perri, 70, an at-large Common Council member, died shortly after midnight Sunday in his home on South Taylor Street after a bout with cancer.
Mr. Perri was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Mishawaka.
On Sept. 23, 1950, in Mishawaka, he married Betty L. Hoover. She survives with a daughter, Diane Love of Mishawaka; a son, Carl R. of Mishawaka; two grandsons; three sisters, Catherine Klinedinst of Mishawaka, Mary Linner of Elkhart, and Margaret Catanzarite of Bovalino, Italy; and a brother, Joseph Perry of Elkhart.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bavo's Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a parish wake will be at 3 p.m.
