SOUTH BEND - Doyle E. Peppers Sr., 63, of Illinois St.
South Bend, died in his home Thursday of natural causes. Doyle
was a retired auto repair mechanic who enjoyed fishing, pool,
working on cars and racing. Doyle was born in Floodway, Arkansas,
to Rufus and Emma L. (Chapman) Peppers. He moved to South
Bend in 1955.
He was married to Regina Gillian, who
passed away in 1995. Survivors include Carolyn Y. Peppers of
Mishawaka; daughters: Melissa E. (Russell) Zawacki, and
Susan J. (Ken) Podenski, both of South Bend; sons, Mark W.
(Roxanne) Peppers of Mishawaka, James H. (Lori) Peppers of South
Bend, and Jeffrey A. (Rexanne) Peppers, both of South Bend; 24
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Ceccanece
of Ft. Wayne, Kathryn Hoggard of Paris TN, Dorthy (Dick) Micky
of Vandalia. MI, Lorranie (Dennis) Weiss of Niles, MI,
Erma (Jack) Riedel of Niles MI; brothers: Larry A. Peppers
of South Bend and Richard (Billy) Peppers of Indianapolis; and
special friend, Millie Rose of South Bend. Preceding him
in death are Lee O. Peppers, Walter Peppers, Allen W. Peppers
(1964), Doyle E. Peppers (2003) and Rufus Peppers Jr.
Family and friends are invited to visit on
Saturday, December 1, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Chain-o-Lakes
Conservation Club. HICKEY Funeral Homes and Cremation Service,
3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., is handling arrangements.
