Eugene W. Pepin, 70, of Tammy Drive,
Granger, Ind., passed away Friday, Aug. 3, after a lengthy
illness. Eugene was born on June 22, 1931, in Minneapolis, Minn.,
the son of the late Maurice and Marie Pepin. He was also preceded
in death by a son, Michael E. Pepin; and by a sister, Betty Jane
Pepin.
On Nov. 27, 1952, he married Mary Rose (Marandino),
who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Susan M.
(David) Miller of Granger and Jeanne Marie Pepin of
Holland, Mich.; and by two grandchildren, Chelsea M. and Nathan
D. Miller of Granger. He lived in the Michiana area since 1941.
He was a 1950 graduate of Mishawaka High School. He was
welter-weight champion boxer at the Ringside Athletic Club. Gene
was the owner of Pepin Builders. He also served in the U.S. Army
from 1954-1956. His favorite things in life were woodworking, his
tool shop, billiards and his grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. Private
graveside services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are
being handled by Morning Star Funerals & Cremations, 21275 W.
Cleveland Road, South Bend.
