Harry E. Pedersen, 69, residing on
Tanager Lane, South Bend, died at 12:34 p.m. Tuesday, June 12,
2001, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Mr. Pedersen was
born June 21, 1931, in Stavanger, Norway, as the son of Trygve
and Gudrun (Solskjaer) Pedersen, and has lived in this
community since he was 15 years old.
In St. John's Lutheran Church, LaPorte,
Indiana, he was married to Bonnie Bugg who survives. He is
also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Jack McDonald
of Granger, and Debra and Robert Andrews of Niles, MI. One
grandson, Jason (Alicia) Andrews of Indianapolis, IN; a
great-granddaughter, Madeline Andrews; a sister, Berny (Gunnar) Beck
of LaPorte; a brother, Terje Pedersen of St. Petersburg,
Florida.
Mr. Pedersen was a Real Estate Appraiser for
Emerick & Associates. He has been a real estate broker for 30
years, and an appraiser for the past 10 years. He was Past
District Manager of Rockford Life Insurance Company in South
Bend. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Mishawaka;
Council Oak Lodge #745, F & AM and served as Past Worshipful
Master of the former Valley Lodge #738, F & AM member of
Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend; Avalon
Grott; Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge #235; was Past
President of Independent Order of Vikings Lodge #51, Mishawaka,
served on the Executive Grand Council of the Independent order of
Vikings; was a founding member of the Knute Rockne Lodge of the
Sons of Norway; Past Publicity Chairperson of South Bend
Jaycee's; and was a member of the South Bend Board of Realtors.
Services for Harry E. Pedersen will be held
at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 15, in First Presbyterian Church of
Mishawaka. Rev. Don Neely will officiate. Burial will follow at
Highland Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends
from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka
Ave., South Bend where a Masonic memorial service will be held at
7:30 p.m. Followed by the Elks Memorial service at 8 p.m.
Visitation will also be one hour prior to services Friday in the
church. Memorial contributions may be offered to the Humane
Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 North Grape Road, Mishawaka,
IN46545, or the St. Joseph County Cancer Society, 711 E. Colfax
Ave., South Bend, IN 46617.
