SOUTH BEND - Daniel A. Peczkowski, 77, of North Johnson Street, died at 7:37 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center of natural causes. Mr. Peczkowski was formerly employed at Studebaker Corp. and retired as engineer for South Bend Community School Corp. He was born Aug. 24, 1918, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Jan. 5, 1946, in South Bend, he married Madalen L. Kramer. She survives with a daughter, Pamela A. Tajkowski of Granger; two sons, Keith D. of Mishawaka, and Alan B. of Jasper, Ind.; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mollie Sokol, Leona Jordanek and Deloros Pajakowski, all of South Bend; and three brothers, Edward and John, both of South Bend, and Bernard of Three Rivers. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars 8748 and Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
