MISHAWAKA - Stephen P. Pecsi, 83, of Mishawaka, died at
8:30 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2008, in Our Lady of Peace
Hospital in South Bend after an illness. He was born in South
Bend on May 12, 1925, to John & Mary (Palfi) Pecsi.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, three
brothers and his first wife Dorothy (Bella) after
forty-one years of marriage. Surviving Stephen are his wife
Shirley, whom he married on July 19, 1997; son Chris Pecsi of
California; stepdaughter, Cynthia (Edward) Bonczynski of
South Bend; stepson, Michael (Amy) Haun of Granger; five
grandchildren, Edward III, Jessica, Meisha, Madison and Brady. He
had been employed at ADT Security as a salesman and also as a
custodian with Penn Harris Madison School Corporation. He served
his country during WWII in the Navy and was honorably discharged
in 1946. He belonged to VFW Post #360 and he attended First
Christian Church in Mishawaka.
The family will receive friends and family on Sunday November 2, 2008, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bubb Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in First Christian Church of Mishawaka with Rev. Dr. M. Gregory Timmons pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
