Martha K. Pecsi, 93, of Oak Road, South Bend, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2003, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Martha was born on July 19, 1909, in South Bend, to the late Frank and Katherine (Smanda) Duszynski.

On July 4, 1940, as Martha K. Duszynski, she married Joseph A. Pecsi, Sr., who preceded her in death in February 1966.

Mrs. Pecsi is survived by two sons, Joseph A. (Nanette) Pecsi, Jr. of South Bend and James P. (Diana) Pecsi of Nappanee, Indiana; three grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Skarbek of Georgia, Joseph A. (Stacy) Pecsi, III of South Bend and Roxanne (Keith) Miller of Bremen, Indiana; eight great-grandchildren, Rachel, Nicole, Joseph A., IV, Gabrielle, Elizabeth, Emily, Alex and Adam; and a sister, Monica C. Paidle of South Bend.

Mrs. Pecsi was employed by Wilson Brothers and then by Telephone Answering Service, where she worked as an operator, before retiring in 1981. She was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, South Bend. Martha was an avid gardener and loved to sew.

Visitation will be from 3-8 PM today, Monday, January 13, 2003, in Kaniewski Funeral

Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a 4 PM parish rosary will be recited.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday, January 14, 2003, in Our Lady of Hungary Church, South Bend, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
