GRANGER - Stanley W. Pecina, 41, of 52021 Chicory Lane, died Tuesday morning in his home. St. Joseph County Deputy Coroner Charles Hurley ruled the death a suicide. Mr. Pecina was a former employee of AM General Corp. He was born Aug. 16, 1952, in Philadelphia, and lived in Granger for 39 years, coming from Philadelphia.

On Oct. 26, 1974, in South Bend, he married Paula J. Miller. She survives with a son, Johnathon at home; his parents, Maria and Jan Pecina of South Bend; and a sister, Theresa Mizanin of Lansing, Ill. He was a member of Bowlers Country Club and Parent Advocate for Learning Disabilities.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Parent Advocate for Learning Disabilities Association.
