SOUTH BEND - After sharing her love, laughter, emotion and life
energy with others for 67 years, Gail (Beath) Payne's body
tired out and her spirit left on August 13, 2008. Gail was a
great mother, grandmother, friend, and a terrific nurse. She is
missed terribly. Although her mind didn't remain strong for all
of her years, her pursuit of self-awareness and insights about
being honest with others, taking responsibility for your actions
and enjoying life will always remain with those that were
fortunate enough to know her. Gail was always there when we
needed her. She gave of herself to help others. We hope the next
step brings her more happiness than she ever knew. Born May 9,
1941 in Peterborough, Canada, she was the daughter of Gordon and
Josephine (Hawkins) Beath. They preceded her in
death along with her dear brother, Daniel Beath. She leaves
behind three daughters, Tracy Goodin (Kevin) of South Bend,
Andrea Maurer (Tim) of South Bend and Jennifer Miller
of Rocklin, CA; two brothers, Lyn Beath (Delores) of Mishawaka
and Jim Beath (Kay) of Nappanee; seven sisters, Bonnie Hale
(Bill) of Beloit, WI, Rosalie Sebastian (Jim) of
Milwaukee, WI, Maureen Strickland (Jim) of Mobile, AL,
Karee Beath of Elkhart, Jamie Beath of Elkhart, Kathy Sipple
(Bill) of Goodman, WI and Kris Baranczyk (Dan) of
Ripon,WI; and six grandchildren.
No public services will be held. If you wish
to make a contribution, in her memory, please contact either The
Center for Hospice and Palliative Care and/or Habitat for
Humanity.
