Gustaves Pauwels, 87, of 206
S. Cherry St., died at 12:25am
today in Carlyle Nursing Home after an illness of two months. He had been employed by the Sibley Machine
& Foundry Corp. for forty years before retiring in 1950.
Born January
10, 1884, in Westdorpe, Holland,
he came to South Bend in 1907. On July
25, 1907, he married Emma Buysse, who died March
2, 1951.
Surviving are four sons, Raymond
of Osceola, Gerard & Edward of South Bend, Andrew of Livonia MI; a daughter
Mrs. William Farrington of South Bend;
19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7
to 9pm today and from noon
to 9pm Thursday at Kaniewski &
Sons Funeral Home. Services will be 11am
Friday in Sacred Heart
Church on Thomas
St. Rev.
Joseph P. Horvath, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
