SOUTH BEND - Andrew Pauwels of Bloomington passed away Friday, April 30, 2010, in the Bloomington Hospital. He was 88 years old. Andrew was born September 2, 1921, in South Bend, Indiana, to Gustave and Emma Buysse Pauwels. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Corps, spent his professional career with Studebaker Automobile in South Bend and American Motors in Detroit, Michigan, and was also a member of St. Charles Borremeo Catholic Church in Bloomington.   Andrew leaves behind his daughter, Suzanne Pauwels of Bloomington, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Elaine Niezgodzki Pauwels; one sister and three brothers; and four infant children. Graveside services will be held for Andrew on Monday, May 10, 2010, at Highland Cemetery in South Bend, IN, at 11:00 AM.   Allen Funeral Home, 4155 South Old Highway 37, Bloomington, is handling the arrangements, and online condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenfuneralhome.org.
