Sister M. Sylvester CSC, 82, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died there at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. She was born Mary Catherine Paukovich on Dec. 10, 1905 if Hochstrasse, Germany. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on July 15, 1925 coming from Rock Springs, Wyo. She was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1926 and professed her vows Aug. 15, 1928. She was assigned to teaching in elementary school conducted by the Sisters of Holy Cross and served in school in California, Utah, Idaho, and Seattle from 1925 to 1976. She came to St. Mary’s Convent in 1976.
