Services for Sister Mary Praxedes CSC, 88, of St. Mary’s Convent died there Friday evening after an extended illness, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s. Friends may call in the convent parlors, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. today.

Born Julia Patterson May 13, 1889 in Crown, Pa., she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Sept. 3, 1909, coming from Elkins, W. Va. She was received as a novice Dec. 10, 1909 and professed her vows on Dec. 10, 1911. She taught music in Texas, Chicago, and Virginia, and at St. Joseph Academy and St. Mary’s Academy in South Bend, and at St. Mary’s College. She returned to the convent to reside in 1963.
