Ruth M. Patterson, 77, of Conroe, Texas, formerly of Greene Township, South Bend, Ind., passed away Tuesday Sept. 17, in the Rosewood Nursing Home, Killeen, Texas, after an extended illness. Mrs. Patterson was born on March 12, 1925, in Hecla, Pa.,

On Jan. 20, 1967, as Ruth M. Harrold, she married Robert A. Patterson who preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1993. Mrs. Patterson is survived by a daughter, Marsha Ann Harrold of Riverside, Calif.; a son, Lee Harrold Kempner of Texas; a stepson, Gary Patterson of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two sisters, Maxine Gazdik of Los Angeles, Calif., and Blanch Crum of Youngwood, Pa. Ruth was loved by her family and numerous friends she had the opportunity to be with in her life journey. She loved and cherished her grandchildren.

There will be no visitation hours, only a graveside service on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Sumption Prairie Cemetery. Rev. Charles Ternet is officiating. All memorial contributions may be made to the Sumption Church, 24535 Roosevelt Road, South Bend, IN 46614. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23 South Bend handled the arrangements and services and extend deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Patterson family.
