Captain Donald L. Patrick, USAF
retired, 50, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1950, in South Bend,
Ind. In 1972 he graduated from the University of Notre Dame with
a bachelor's degree in political science. After graduation, he
was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force. In
1978 he graduated from the University of Southern California with
a master's degree in international relations. When he retired
from the U.S. Air Force as a captain, he had served in several
different bases in the states and overseas.
He is survived by his sister, Carol Patrick Adcock,
and husband, Richard of Maumelle, Ark.; sister, Lynn Patrick of
South Bend; brother, Mark J. Patrick of South Bend; and by his
nephews, Rick and Mike Adcock, and his niece, Carolyn Adcock.
With quiet strength, he bore his plight. We're humbled by his
meekness, and how soft he went into the light. We will miss you
Don.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30
a.m. today, Oct. 3, in St. Austin's Catholic Church, 2026
Guadalupe, with Father Thomas Foley, C.S.P., as the celebrant. In
lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the
American Diabetes Association, 4425 W. Airport Fwy., Suite 130,
Irving, TX 75062. The Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300
W. William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749, handled the
arrangements.
