SOUTH BEND - Violet A. Pate, 86, of Druid Lane, died at 12:30 a.m. today in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Pate was born Aug. 10, 1909, in Chicago and lived in South Bend since 1937.

On Nov. 20, 1934, in South Bend, as Violet A. VonSar, she married John Pate. He died April 10, 1988. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Draper, with whom she made her home; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
