Stanley J. Paskiet, 72, died on
Tuesday, Dec. 5. He was the son of Stanley and Esther Paskiet.
His father died April 29, 1972, and his mother died December 9,
1992. Stanley was born on Feb. 26, 1934, in South Bend, IN.
He married Joan L. Switalski on
October 26, 1957, in St. Augustine Catholic Church, and they were
married for 49 years. He is survived by two children, Stanley
(Sherrie) Paskiet II of Eustis, Florida, and Diane (Dan) Newman
of Niles, MI; three grandchildren, Brandon (Kim) Paskiet of South
Bend, and Courtney L. and Stanley J. Paskiet IV of Eustis, FL.; a
great-grandson, Dayton J. Paskiet of South Bend; three
step-grandchildren, Danny Jr., Monica and Jake Newman of Niles,
MI; a sister, Rosie Rozmarynowski of South Bend. Stanley
worked at South Bend Toy for 32 years. He retired from South Bend
Regional Airport maintenance department with 16 years in 1999,
and worked part-time with Avis.
He served in the U.S. Army for three years
during the Korean War. He belonged to V.F.W. Post 9820, South
Bend, was past commander, and was a life member since 1968
holding various offices.
He enjoyed his grandchildren and
great-grandson, and his wife and son and daughter.
Stanley enjoyed gardening, tinkering in the
garage, and baking Christmas cookies with his wife, Joan. He
enjoyed Notre Dame games, family get-togethers and just talking
with the neighbors.
Friends are calling on Friday, Dec. 8, from
2 to 5 p.m. in the McGann Hay, Morning Star Funerals &
Cremations, 21275 W. Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice.
