SOUTH BEND - Evelyn Delores Papai, 74, of Cleveland Road, died at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Papai was born Sept. 28, 1921, in Niles. As Evelyn D. Carpenter, she married John Joseph Papai. He died Nov. 29, 1986. She is survived by two sons, John and David, both of South Bend; and two granddaughters, Jessica and Rebecca, both of Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Entombment will be in Riverview Mausoleum.
