Dorothy Panis, 84, of Mishawaka,
Ind., went home to be with Jesus at 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept.
15, at the Ironwood Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, South
Bend, Ind. She was born on Nov. 26, 1913, in South Bend, to Clyde
and Lena Rumsey.
She is survived by a sister, Midge (Lane) Pilcher
of Parma Heights, Ohio; a son, Hank Panis of Granger, Ind.; a
daughter, Kathy (Steven) Palmer of Jacksonville, Fla.; two
nephews, Bill (Debbie) Beelaert of Granger and Mark
Beelaert of Connecticut; and by a niece, Diane (Bill) White
of Ohio.
She also has five grandchildren, Denise
(Dave) Gapinski of Georgia, Jackie (Louie) Kovatch
of Mishawaka, Julie Panis of Pennsylvania, Sabrina Palmer and
Denise Palmer; six great-nieces and nephews, Candice Beelaert,
Courtney Beelaert, Jeff Beelaert, Kim (Chris) Medaglia,
Sheri (Drew) Ancierto and Shannon White; and by seven
great-grandchildren, Scott Kovatch, Danny Kovatch, Brian Kovatch,
Dana Gapinski, Kyle Gapinski, Kara Gapinski and Jeremy Devon.
Dorothy was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic
Church, Mishawaka, and will lovingly be remembered as mother,
grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a blessing to her family as
her life was spent loving, enjoying and taking great care of them
all.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8
p.m. today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka,
with a wake service being held at 3:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will
be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, in St. Bavo's
Catholic Church, with Father James Shafer officiating. Interment
will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
