Gerald A. Palmer

June 15, 1920 – February 10, 2001

Gerald A. Palmer, 80, of Portage Avenue, South Bend IN, died Saturday, at 2:30am in Our Lady of Peace Hospital, South Bend.

Gerald was born on June 15, 1920, in Kalamazoo MI, to Lewis A & Isabell (Seifert) Palmer who preceded him in death, along with one brother, Paul Palmer.

On June 3, 1950, he married Virginia L. Haj, who survives.  Also surviving is a daughter, Collette M. and her husband, Joseph Hanslits Jr; two grandchildren, Allison L. and Timothy J. Hanslits, all of Pottstown PA; one brother, Maurice Palmer of South Bend; two nephews, Lewis and John Palmer, both of South Bend..

Gerald was a Brew Master with Drewry’s Limited and a member of the Master Brewerys Association.

Private family services will be held with the McGann Funeral Homes, Council Oak Gardens Chapel, 21275 W. Cleveland Road, South Bend IN, handling the services.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Vincent DePaul or the charity of the donor’s choice.
