Paul V. Paden Jr., 83, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2006, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

He was born on January 11, 1923, in South Bend, to the late Paul V. Sr. and Mabel (Scheibelhut) Paden. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1939. On August 28, 1943, in South Bend, he married Donna Florence Edwards, who preceded him in death on April 24, 2003. Paul and Donna started and ran their own businesses, Pixie Restaurant, Wicks Restaurant, Mr. Lucky's Tavern and then Paden & Sons Music and Vending, where they worked together all of their lives.

Paul is survived by his four sons, Paul III (Sue) Paden of Omaha, Nebraska, Michael (Laura) Paden of Bullhead City, Arizona, Patrick (Penny) Paden of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Dennis (Angelic) Paden of South Bend; his two daughters, Christine Castrovillari, and companion, Kevin of South Bend, and Kelley Paden of Los Angeles, California; 15 grandchildren, Marcia, Jessica, Patrick Jr. "PJ" (Jacklyn), Michael, Roy, Paul, Crystal, Melissa, Kristina, Shane, Sarah, Michael Jr., Michelle, Joseph (Kellee) Hamel and Zachary; 13 great-grandchildren, Kalib, Jessica, Kristina, Danny, Ryan, Roy Jr., Westley, Bryce, Jacob, Zander, Alexis, Ashlynn and Jacob; his sister, Mary Jane (Robert) Rossiter of Omaha; a niece, Sandra; and by three nephews, Robert Jr., James and William.

Paul was very dedicated to his family businesses. He took great pride in having all of his children work with him through the years.

Pops was a very dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid golfer and a Notre Dame fan. We Love you Pops!

There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday, February 24, 2006, in Saint Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami Street, South Bend. Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, is handling the arrangements.
