Donna F. Paden
Sept. 6, 1920 - April 24, 2003
Donna Florence Paden, 82, of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Thursday, April 24, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
Donna was born on Sept. 6, 1920, in Benton Harbor, Mich., to John and Lucille (Troutfetter) Edwards. In 1938 she graduated from Benton Harbor High School. She then moved to South Bend and worked for Bendix. On Aug. 28, 1943, in South Bend, as Donna Florence Edwards, she married Paul Paden Jr., who survives. Mr. and Mrs. Paden then started Paden & Sons Music and Vending, where they worked together all of their lives.
Along with her husband of 60 years, she is survived by four sons, Paul III (Sue) Paden of Omaha, Neb., Michael (Laura) Paden of Bullhead City, Ariz., Patrick (Penny) Paden of Mishawaka, Ind., and Dennis (Angelic) Paden of South Bend; two daughters, Christine Castrovillari and companion, Kevin of South Bend, and Kelley Paden of Los Angeles, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, Marcia, Jessica, Patrick Jr. (P.J.), Michael, Roy, Paul, Crystal, Melissa, Kristina, Shane, Sarah, Michael Jr., Michelle, Joseph (Kellee) and Zachary; nine great-grandchildren, Kalib, Jessica, Kristina, Danny, Ryan, Roy Jr., Westley, Bryce and Jacob; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane (Robert) Rossiter of Omaha; a niece, Sandra; and three nephews, Robert Jr., James and William.
Mrs. Paden was preceded in death by a brother, Bud Rouse; and by a sister, Virginia Edwards and Missy.
Non was a very dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid golfer, loved to cook, and was also a Notre Dame and Cubs fan. We love you Non.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday, April 28, in the Cathedral of Saint Matthew, 1701 Miami, South Bend. The Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Donna Paden Memorial Fund, c/o any Notre Dame Federal Credit Union.
