Levell Kevin Pace, 34, of Crestwood Blvd., South Bend, Ind., died at 4:02 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, in the Emergency Room at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, following a six-month illness. He was born June 9, 1968, in St. Louis, Missouri to Lewis Pace II and Elnora (Allen) Pace, who preceded him in death.
On Oct. 27, 2001, he married the former Melissa Batiz in South Bend. She survives with his brothers, Joseph Goodman of Indianapolis, Lewis Pace III of Marion, Ind., and Lance Pace of Bloomington, Ind. His sister, Macia Richardson of Bloomington also survives.
Mr. Pace was a Police Officer for Indiana University South Bend for the last 9 years. He was president of the Black Police Officers of South Bend and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He also donated much of his time to the Homeless Shelter in South Bend, teaching CPR. Funeral
Services for Mr. Pace will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, and also one hour prior to services. Officiating the services will be Rev. Don Neely. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
