SOUTH BEND - Harold A. Paar, 74,
residing on North 29th Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away of
natural causes at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 27, in his home. Mr.
Paar was retired as a sales representative for Kwik-Way
Manufacturing, Inc. His territory consisted of the state of
Indiana. Harold was born on June 20, 1923, in South Bend, to the
late Alexander and Pauline Paar. He was a lifelong resident of
South Bend.
On Dec. 23, 1977, in South Bend, he married
Delores J. Trisinger, who survives. He is also survived by
two sons, Jerry Paar of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ernie Paar; one
stepdaughter, Debra Sarkisian of South Bend; two
grandchildren, Brant and Kailey Sarkisian, both at home; and by
two brothers, Robert Paar of South Bend and Steve Paar of
Illinois.
Mr. Paar was a member of St. Patrick
Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Mishawaka, and Loyal
Order of the Moose #58. He was a World War II Army veteran, and
was honorably discharged in 1945 as a staff sergeant with Company
A, 508th Parachute Infantry. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on
Tuesday, March 31, in St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial and
military gravesite services will be conducted at Highland
Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8
p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue,
South Bend. Contributions in Mr. Harold A. Paar's memory may be
made to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
