Jimmie R. Moore-Owens

Mrs. Jimmie Ree Moore-Owens, 61, cherished loved one, formerly of South Bend, Indiana, who currently resided in Aurora, Colorado, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2001 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Jimmie Ree was born in Dells, Arkansas on December 13, 1940 to the union of Virgil L. and Samella (Wilkerson) Moore.

At an early age, Jimmie Ree moved to South Bend with her parents and graduated from Washington High School. She and her first husband, James T. Robinson of Denver, Colorado, were married for 32 years and to this union several children were born. In 1981 she moved to Colorado. On July 21, 2001, in Aurora, she and Willie F. Owens were married.

Surviving along with her husband, Willie; are two daughters, Cheryl Denise Coleman of Alexandria, Virginia and Crystal Marie Robinson of Denver, Colorado; four sons, Reginald Andre (Patricia) Coleman and Courtney Lynn Robinson, both of Aurora, Colorado, Sherman Keith (Crystal) Coleman and Thomas Lamar (Lynette) Robinson, both of Denver, Colorado; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her mother, Samella Moore of South Bend; five sisters, Willa Bea (Murray) Stevens, Curuth (Jack) Montgomery and Dorothy Jean Moore, all of South Bend, Sarah Ann (Clarence) McFarland of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Mary Louise (John) Rhodes of Lithonia, Georgia; four brothers, Samuel L. (Annie) Moore of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Virgil L. (Rosie) Moore of Gary, Indiana, James "Sherby" Moore of Atlanta, Georgia and Wilroy (Linda) Moore of South Bend; an aunt, Gertrude (Hardy) Hogue of St. Louis, Missouri; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death along with her father, Virgil Moore Sr., was a sister, Julie Moore; and her grandmother, Sarah Wilkerson.

Services for Mrs. Moore-Owens will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ, with Pastor Donald Alford, Sr., officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
