Nelson W. "Willie" Outcalt,
83, of East Leyte Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 12:20
p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, in Saint Joseph Community Hospital,
Mishawaka. Nelson was born on May 17, 1917, in Cincinnati, Ohio,
to Nelson and Ethel (Armstrong) Outcalt. Nelson graduated
in 1937 from Western Hill High School in Cincinnati. He attended
Cincinnati University for three years.
On Feb. 4, 1939, Nelson married Marie
Elizabeth Kreyling, who preceded him in death. He was also
preceded in death by his son, Gerald Nelson Outcalt; a
granddaughter, Kerry Lynne Kinzie; and by a sister, Mary
L. Huber. Nelson leaves to cherish his memories his
daughters, Vickie (Harold L.) Kinzie of Bluffton, Ind., and Karen
(Ronald A.) Miller of Kenosha, Wis.; his sister, Grace C. Wendt
of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Nelson was employed by Bendix Products as a
supervisor, engineer and draftsman. He retired in 1980 after 39
years of service. Nelson was a member of the First Methodist
Church in Mishawaka, the Yateman Lodge #162, 32nd Degree Mason,
Valley of South Bend Scottish Rite as a life-member, Club 15AC,
Bendix Retirement Club, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2082.
Friends may visit from 2-8 p.m. today in the
Chapel Hill Funeral Home. There will be a Masonic service at 7:00
p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in
the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with Reverend Lorin Clemenz
officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens in Osceola, Ind. Memorial donations may be made to the
Shriners Hospital.
