LAKEVILLE - Leah M. Ostrowski, 82, of Patnaude Lane, died at 6:50 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, after an illness. Mrs. Ostrowski retired from St. Joseph Hospital in 1975 as a registered nurse after eight years of service. She was born April 6, 1912, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident. On Feb. 19,
1934, in South Bend, as Leah M. Jansen, she married Francis
Ostrowski. He survives with two daughters, Barbara Richardson of Mishawaka and Frances Toth of South Bend; two sons, John of
Cassopolis and Tomas of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Catherine Biron of Middleport, Ohio. She was a volunteer for Union-North Ambulance Service.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners' Crippled Children's Hospital.
