Milton Ross Ort

Memorial funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday
in the Haverstock funeral home, LaPorte, Ind., for Major
Milton Ross Ort, world war II hero, formerly of South Bend.
Major Ort interned in Memorial hospital in 1939. Before his graduation from Indiana university medical school, Indianapolis, in 1938, he resided at 224 East Indiana avenue. After his internship he joined the United States army medical corps, going first to the Walter Reed hospital, Washington, D. C., where he served as a malariologist.
Also he was stationed at Fort Knox, Ky., in Central America and in the southwest Pacific.
In February, 1944, in the malaria control hospital on the island, Efate, he died, at the age of 39.
Surviving are his father, Milton F. Ort, and
a sister, Miss Catherine Ort, both of Mishawaka.
