Joseph J. Ornat: (South Bend Tribune 7/9/1957)

Joseph J. Ornat, of 506 E. Washington Ave., Indianapolis, a former resident of South Bend, died at 2:14 p.m. Sunday in General Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born in South Bend Jan. 17, 1917, and had lived here 39 years. Surviving are his widow, Harriett; three daughters, Mrs. Nancy Paturalski, Mrs. Delores Niedbalski and Miss Sandra; two sons, Thomas and Robert; his parents, George and Vera Ornat; a step-sister, Mrs. Henrietta Roose, and three brothers, Harry, Sylvester and Aloysius, all of South Bend. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1222 Napier St. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Casimir’s Catholic Church with Rev. Casimir J. Witucki, C.S.C., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Polish Cemetery.
