ASHEBORO, NC -Helen Klimczak Olszewski, 88, formerly of
Mishawaka, IN, died Monday, April 26, 2010, in the GrayBrier
Nursing and Retirement Center, Trinity, NC. Mrs. Olszewski was
born May 12, 1921, the daughter of Cyril and Stefania Podolska
Klimczak. In February 1950, Helen and her husband Stefan
immigrated to America from Poland. She will be remembered as a
loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed the culinary arts. She
and her husband were accomplished dancers, often wowing crowds
with their prowess. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed
needlework. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Church in High Point, and was preceded in death by her husband,
Stefan Olszewski, and one grandson, David Bumanglag. She is
survived by six daughters, Teresa Becker of Mishawaka, IN, Donna
Irene Stevenson of Sophia, NC, Genny Schmidt of Wasilla, AK,
Julia Olszewski of Federal Way, WA, Cecilia Bumanglag of Palmer,
AK, Regina Everett of Lakebay, WA; and two sons, Jerry Olszewski
of Granger, IN, and Steve Olszewski of Mesquite, NV; 10
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will
receive friends Saturday, May 1, 2010, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM in
the Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The
funeral will follow at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial
will be at New Hope Memorial Gardens, Asheboro. Online
