Jane K. Olcott

March 30, 1922 - March 24, 2001

Jane K. Olcott, 78, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died following an illness on Saturday, March 24, in the Surrey Place Convalescent Center, Bradenton.

Mrs. Olcott was born on March 30, 1922, in South Bend, to Edwin H. and Dorothy (Jefferson) Konold, and had lived in South Bend until moving to Bradenton in 2000. On Oct. 6, 1944, in South Bend, as Jane Konold, she married John Z. Olcott, who preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1992.

She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Alan Blair) Olcott of Bradenton; a son, John Z. (Lisa) Olcott Jr. of Topsfield, Mass.; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Julianna Olcott; two step-granddaughters, Dana and Megan Blair; and by a sister, Helen K. Horner of Modesto, Calif.

Mrs. Olcott was a member and past president of the Visiting Nurse Association, member and past president of Delta Gamma Alumnae Association, former board member of Junior League of South Bend, former member of the South Bend Country Club and the South Bend Power Squadron Auxiliary of Northern Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 30, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, with Deacon Joseph Liles of the Cathedral of St. James Episcopal officiating. Entombment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
