MELBOURNE, Fla. - Former Anderson resident Jon Edward Ohlheiser, 72, Melbourne, died May 9, 2005.

He was born Feb. 23, 1933, in South Bend, the son of Harold and Helen (Speyer) Ohlheiser. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War serving with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a graduate of Purdue University, Boat Captain, professional racquetball player and avid scuba diver.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Ohlheiser and Scott (Gretchen) Ohlheiser of Flower Mound, Texas; brother, Russell Ohlheiser of Windsor, Conn.; a grandson, Tyler Ohlheiser of Anderson; a granddaughter, Taylor Ohlheiser of Anderson; two nieces and a nephew.

Also surviving is former spouse and loving friend, Nancy Ohlheiser.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen (Speyer) Ohlheiser.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Palm Bay Funeral Home, 950 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay, Fla.
