SOUTH BEND - Donald Oedekerk, Jr., 37, of South Bend, Ind., died at home following an illness on Sunday, March 9, 1997. Born on June 9, 1959, he was a lifelong resident of the South Bend area. He graduated from Mishawaka Marian High School, class of '78, and from Purdue University in 1982.

He married Laura Weber of Mishawaka, Ind., in 1985, who survives. Don spent 17 years working with Parrish Machine Company, becoming the third generation president of the family business. Don was a devoted member of River Valley Community Church in Mishawaka, where memorial contributions may be made. This loving husband, father, son, and brother is also survived by two children, Paul Joseph and Paige Joanne, both at home; his parents, Sharlee and Don Oedekerk of South Bend; and his sister, Jan Oedekerk Spalding of Mishawaka.

The family welcomes friends to visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, 503 W. Third St., Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the River Valley Community Church, 55855 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka.
