Charles J. O’Connor, 63, of 19061 Dresden Drive, died at 8:14pm Wednesday in St Joseph’s Medical Center.

Arrangements are being handled by Hickey Funeral Home Cleveland Road Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road.

Obituary

Services for Charles J. O’Connor, 63, of Dresden Drive, who died unexpectedly Wednesday in St Joseph’s Medical Center, were held Friday.  Burial was in St Joseph Valley Memorial Park.  Hickey Funeral Home, Cleveland Road Chapel, 1713 Cleveland Road, handled arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Mr. O’Connor was a supervisor for Bendix Corp.  Born January 7, 1927, in Philadelphia PA, he lived in this area the past 25 years, coming from Ohio.  On March 21, 1973, in South Bend, he married Elizabeth Vineburg Cossman, who survives.  Also surviving are three stepdaughters, Judith Cossman of Chicago, Gayle Cossman of South Bend, and Diane Sager of Granger; two sons, Mark of South Bend and Timothy of Tampa FL; a stepson, Neil Cossman of San Jose CA; four grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and a brother, John O’Connor of Columbia MD.  He was a WW II Navy veteran and a member of VFW Post 1167.
