Marjorie O'Chap, 73, of Greenleaf Lane, South Bend, Ind., died at 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
She was born on March 9, 1926, in Bagdad, Fla., and lived in this area since 1943. Mrs. O'Chap retired in 1982 from Uniroyal after 35 years of service.
On Aug. 19, 1972, in South Bend, as Marjorie Shields, she married Arthur O'Chap, who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Maxine O'Chap of South Bend; two sons, Kevin O'Chap of South Bend, and Dale (Julie) O'Chap of Granger, Ind.; three grandchildren, Ana O'Chap, Monica O'Chap and Bradley O'Chap, all of Granger; and a brother, Judd (Rita) Dorsey of South Bend, and by several nieces and nephews. Preceding Marjorie in death was a son, David Shields; three brothers, David, Jack and John Dorsey; and a sister, Gay. Mrs. O'Chap was a member of West Side Church of Christ.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday in West Side Church of Christ, South Bend. Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, and from noon until time of service Friday in the church. Burial will be at Southlawn Cemetery
