Shirley J. Obren

Shirley June Obren, 57, of Edison Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away after a brief illness at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 24, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Shirley was born on June 19, 1944, in Niles, Mich., to the late Lloyd and Anabell (Rosenberger) Meyers.

On April 5, 1963, Shirley married Peter Obren, who survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Angela and Julie Ann Obren, both of South Bend; a granddaughter, Alisabeth Obren of South Bend; and two sisters, Carol Compoe of Niles and Jeannette Geer of Del Valley, Texas. Prior to her illness Shirley had spent her working days as a hairdresser, most recently at Master Cuts in University Park Mall, Mishawaka.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, with Rev. Karl Brenner officiating. Friends may visit with Shirley's family on Saturday in the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.
