Funeral services for Sister Emerenstiana CSC, aged 69 years, who died Saturday, were held at St. Mary’s college and academy today. Sister Emerentiana’s worldly name was Mary Nowlan. She held the position of archivist and secretary at St. Mary’s for 20 years. She was a student at the academy in the early sixties, entering the community in 1868 and taking the vows in 1870. She was born in Toulson, Ill in 1846. Burial was in St. Mary’s cemetery.
