Stanley F. Nowak of Kaley Street,
South Bend, died Friday, December 24, 2004 at 3 p.m. in Memorial
Hospital surrounded by his family. Stanley was born on April 20,
1913 to Joseph and Magdalena (Kuubicki) Nowak, who both
preceded him in death in the 1950s. Stanley was preceded in death
by seven brothers and sisters, Peal Sniegocki, Gladys Regulinski,
Kathryn Nowak, John, Joseph, Walt and Frank. Also preceding him
in death on February 25, 2004 was a grandson, Kevin Cassidy.
On November 29, 1947 he married the former
Cecilia Jozwiak who preceded him in death on December 19,
1995. Surviving to cherish his memories are two daughters, Marcia
Cassidy and husband, John, Sherry Close and her
husband, Jim; two sons, David Nowak and his wife, Chris and Randy
Nowak; along with seven grandchildren, Colleen Cassidy, Kristie
Cassidy, Michelle Nowak, Aaron Nowak, Mindy Burrows, Ryan
burrows, Jason Burrows and nine great-grandchildren.
Stanley served his country in the U.S. Army
during World War II stationed in Sicily, Italy, as a medical
aidman. He was a member of the American Legion Post #357.
Stanley's name was engraved and inducted into the World War II
Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Stanley was employed at the Singer
corporation and retired in 1978 from the Bendix Corporation.
Visitation will be today, December 28, 2004
from 4 to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower
Road. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 29, 2004,
at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph
Cemetery, South Bend.
