Mrs. Clara M. Nowak

August 16, 1918 - May 24, 1978

Mrs. Clara M. Nowak, 59, of 6118 Oldham, died in her residence at 7pm Wednesday after a five year illness..

She was born August 16, 1918, in South Bend and lived here all her life.  On September 19, 1941, as Clara Zakrzewski, she married Matthew J. Nowak, who died December 27, 1975.  Surviving are four sons, Paul J. of Minot ND, Robert E. of Pittsburgh, David M. and Thomas M., both of South Bend; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Marlin of Syracuse and Mrs. Patricia Birky of South Bend and a brother, Joseph of South Bend.

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be at 11am Friday in St Jude's Catholic Church, Rev. Edward A. Narcowich, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.  Mrs. Nowak was a member of the Neighborhood Bible Study Group.  A Bible wake service will be at 7:30pm today in the funeral home.
